DC UNIVERSE Comic Book Library Doubles In Size
DC has added thousands of new comic book titles to the DC Universe subscription service, in what the company says will "more than double" the total available titles by the end of March.
This week the publisher will be adding the "Rebirth" era Action Comics, the "New 52" Batman, Batman Incorporated, the recent "War of Jokes and Riddles" Batman arc, Flashpoint, Gotham Central, the 2011 and 2013 Harley Quinn runs, Justice League: Darkseid War, The Omega Men, Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run, Static Shock, Superman: For All Seasons, and unspecified Wonder Woman issues.
"When launching DC Universe we knew the comic reader was an area that we wanted to expand and provide more choice. Fans want a place to discover new titles and the opportunity to enjoy full arcs of iconic and notable storylines from start to finish,” said DC Digital Services' Senior VP/General Manager, Sam Ades. "We are listening to fans and responding with an expanded comic book offering that improves the overall DC UNIVERSE experience."
This comes four months after the service's launch, and three weeks after DC joined the Amazon's three similar services - comiXology Unlimited, Kindle Unlimited, and Amazon Prime.
Among the new titles available starting today:
Over the course of the next 8 weeks, DC plans to also add 52, Grant Morrison's Animal Man run, the "Rebirth" Aquaman run, the 2009 Batgirl, Forever Evil, Hawkword, the 1999 JSA run, Midnigher & Apollo, Planetary, Superman: Secret Origin, The Wild Storm, and various Batman arcs including "Hush," "Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader?", and "Year One."
DC Universe is currently available exclusively U.S. residents, priced at $7.99/month or $74.99/annually. The app is available on browsers, as well as apps for several platforms including iOS, Amazon Fire TV, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, and Roku.
